Gotta say I love your new web format – its looking slick.

Since this post is on the subject of learning – as someone progressing in the waves I’d love to see more extended cut videos that really show how the pros handle the waves. What I mean is that while the most radical moves and wipeouts are awesome, I also want to see how the best sailors do some of the more mundane stuff like tacking in the impact zone, timing the sets, managing the shore break, and dealing with their gear after falling in the impact zone. I’m not really talking about instructional videos. Rather videos that give a more nuanced expansive feel of how the best do what they do.

Maybe thats too boring, but it would be great for my learning curve. And I’ll second Matt’s abilities as a teacher. The private I took with him a while back was excellent.

Good input Alex and you’re not the first to suggest it. Problem is, I rarely remember to shoot that kind of stuff. There’s so much happening I forget to shoot some of the mundane stuff. But, I’ll keep the idea in mind. Probably won’t see it in the near term with photo shoot season on us, but I’ll see what I can do.
