It’s the final days of August and yet another summer is coming to a close. What that means to most windsurfers who make Maui home is that, with Fall knocking on the door, our anticipation of the upcoming north shore wave season grows stronger and stronger every day.
By all accounts, last year’s wave season was epic, starting at the end of August with some incredible surf all Fall, Winter and much of Spring. In anticipation of the upcoming season and appreciation of last season, I put together a little highlight real of Hookipa action I caught between August 2009 and April 2010 (the 2010 model year, as it were).
Lots of incredible riding by the top riders on the planet in a variety of conditions; including light conditions with only a couple of guys out to super gnarly and extreme conditions like the Epic Sessions / Shadowbox Jump Competition to the always entertaining photo shoots.
Looking forward to another north shore wave season – both riding the waves and capturing others riding them.
