Mostly KP Video

After wearing myself out sailing on Saturday I stopped by Hookipa to check it out. Super light conditions with mostly just surfers out. Kevin Pritchard was the only windsurfer out, but was soon joined by Ricardo Campello for a few minutes before the lifeguards invoked the 10 man surfer rule and ordered them out.

It looks like our streak of epic conditions is on it’s way out. Yesterday we had much lighter winds and the waves were a lot smaller too. Still sailable on bigger gear, but it was light enough that I opted to give my body the break it’s been waiting for.

Today looks to be similar, light trade winds that might be enough on bigger gear, waves forecast to be smaller than yesterday. An upper level low will be moving over Hawaii tonight which the weather forecasters are saying will bring some potentially heavy rainfall. There’s a flash flood watch in effect tonight through Thursday. Even if there is wind and waves it looks like it will be a sloppy, wet mess.
