Back on Maui after a week+ off-island traveling and visiting family. It sure feels good to be back.  A lot of people ask about getting “rock fever” here. That’s never been a problem for me. Just the opposite in fact. Sometimes I feel like Maui is getting to crowded and commercialized but all it takes [...]

Here’s a quick video I slapped together of action at Hookipa on Thursday. Ricardo Campello, Kai Lenny, Mark Angulo plus some non-pro sailors as well.
Still windy the last few days on Maui. Though it’s gotten a bit light a few times, still sailable. That trend looks to continue into next week. Couple of big new [...]

Unsettled weather here on Maui the last few days with light wind and rain. Thursday was rainy much of the day as the radar image to the right shows. Things dried out yesterday and the wind was forecast to return, but the only decent readings on iWindsurf were at Hookipa and I heard through the [...]

After wearing myself out sailing on Saturday I stopped by Hookipa to check it out. Super light conditions with mostly just surfers out. Kevin Pritchard was the only windsurfer out, but was soon joined by Ricardo Campello for a few minutes before the lifeguards invoked the 10 man surfer rule and ordered them out.
It looks [...]

Scenes from Hookipa on a sunny day in November. I received a request from a reader last week to include video footage of non-pro sailors. So while at Hookipa last week I decided to oblige him and try to capture some other footage besides the same pros I normally focus on.
While I don’t think that [...]
