As mentioned last post, we’ve finally got some decent wind the last few days. Here’s the rundown for the last few days.
Saturday: Pretty good wind – 5.3 early, but the wind slackened as the day wore on. Flat, flat, flat.
Sunday: Still windy with average around 20. Flat conditions and Mother’s Day crowds kept me from the beach.
Monday: Little more sporadic, but sailable at times.
Today: Decent 5.0 to 5.3 conditions at Kanaha. Still very flat. Some tiny stuff breaking up at Camp One where team Goya was doing a photo shoot with a jet ski, including Francisco himself, Levi Siver and sail designer Jason Diffin. Later when I commented to Levi about Hookipa being flat, he responded, “Yea, scary flat!” Still, a beautiful day on the water, sunny, blue skies, clear blue water – the stuff of fantasy for a lot of windsurfers.
Forecast says that the wind is supposed to start declining and go away again by late in the week through the weekend. Long range wind forecast is not looking good early next week either. Very weird April and May we’re having here. Not typical at all.
