Here’s video from Hookipa a couple of days ago during a Neil Pryde 2010 photo shoot. In this episode we see lots of new Neil Pryde, North and Naish gear on display by Robby Naish, Kai Lenny, Klaas Voget, Victor Fernandez and more.
Continued windy here on Maui the last several days. 4.x sails are getting a lot of use by the guys and 3.x sails by the ladies. Actually used my 5.0 yesterday during the fun early session at Uppers before the wind kicked in. Well powered, uncrowded and some fun waves mostly to myself. Good stuff. By afternoon, winds were once again in blasting mode.
Winds are forecast to get even stronger over the next few days. As for waves, here’s what the Hawaiian surf forecast says, “strong trade winds will boost the easterly swell again early this week. These short period waves will likely produce rough and choppy surf near the high surf advisory threshold along east facing shores through the middle of the week. A new northwest swell arriving late Monday, and a second reinforcing northwest swell arriving early Thursday, will maintain small to moderate surf heights along north and west facing shores into Saturday.”
